The Harold D. Buckingham Graduate School is located at 6836 Austin Center Boulevard, Suite 270, Austin, TX 78731. The CCLP is guided by a national advisory board comprised of seasoned, community college professionals, all with decades of experience in the field. These are leaders who are nationally recognized for scholarship, teaching and learning excellence, and service to the community and technical college field.
This blended-learning, cohort-based program addresses the competencies and characteristics identified as critical by institutions involved in community college leadership. The CCLP prepares senior administrators, faculty, and other aspiring leaders to tackle the multitude of complex issues impacting community and technical colleges (e.g., accountability, increasing enrollment – with students often under prepared for college, decreasing state support, closing achievement gaps, demand for increasing completion rates). Course topics focus on leadership issues in areas such as: history, mission, and emerging issues; leadership development and leading institutional transformation; ethics and educational value choices; educational analytics; policy, politics, and public affairs; planning, finance, and resource development; governance and administration; and, understanding the contemporary community college student.
